These heritage mansions are ancestral houses which were built during the pinnacle of the Philippines鈥� sugar industry, which was at the heart of the Negros Island鈥檚 economical success during its time.

Silay gained the status of a city in the year of 1957, though it is sometimes considered as part of the Metro Bacolod. That being said, even up to today, Silay is still widely considered as the seat of arts and culture in the Negros Island Region.
