As a resident of Brussels, I have had the opportunity to explore various cities and towns in Belgium. Leuven, a charming university town located just a short train ride away from the capital, has always held a special place in my heart. From its lively student population to its picturesque architecture, Leuven is a destination that never fails to impress.
One of the first things that strikes me about Leuven is its vibrant atmosphere. The town is home to one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe, and as a result, it has a young and energetic feel. Walking through the town’s cobblestone streets, you can’t help but notice the bustling cafes, bars, and shops that line the sidewalks. Students mingle with locals, creating a dynamic and welcoming environment.
One of my favourite things to do in Leuven is to simply wander around and take in the sights. The town is filled with beautiful buildings, many of which date back to the medieval period. The grandeur of the Stadhuis (Town Hall) never fails to impress, with its ornate facade and towering spires. Nearby, the Oude Markt (Old Market) is a lively square lined with bars and restaurants, making it the perfect spot to grab a drink and people-watch. ......
