
Exploring Nha Trang’s Vinh Phuoc Area, Nha Trang, Vietnam
The beautiful city of Nha Trang is characteristically known for its towering buildings set along the sandy coast of the beach. For many purposes, it has technically evolved into Vietnam’s very own Gold Coast (if you are familiar with Australia).
While the “Gold Coast” area of Nha Trang has become incredibly touristy nowadays, I personally prefer heading to the Vinh Phuoc area for a taste of what Nha Trang may have been like decades ago before the over-tourism kicked in.
Vinh Phuoc is an administrative area with a local economy that is predominantly fueled through agricultural activities such as rice production and cattle breeding. With a total metropolitan area of just 1.7 square kilometres and a tiny population of just over 20,000 people, it is truly a quieter corner amidst the hustle and bustle of Nha Trang!
While it is technically located on the other side of Nha Trang just before you cross the bridge into the Vinh Phuoc area, I included the Alexandre Yersin Park into this guide just for the sheer virtue of its close proximity. It is a memorial park dedicated to Alexandre Yersin, a Swiss-French scientist who opnce lived and worked in Nha Trang for over 50 years in total! ......
